Having issues

I made the template for the votive box in this post.  The problem is it is using a 12x12 piece of cardstock.  I didn't forget to post at all.  I am just going to have to put it on two different pages so you can print it out.  I will make it easy for you to paste the two pages of the template together to trace onto 12x12 cardstock.  I will update later tonight.  Believe it or not, I have had 2 nieces born in the last 5 weeks and now my cousin is in labor with her first.  So I am busy getting a baby gift ready to take to the hospital tomorrow.  I will post that later on tonight too.

Baby Shower Gift

My sister had a baby shower on Sunday, just in time!  She gave birth yesterday as I bragged about in my last post.  Of course I bought her stuff, but I also had to make her something, being the stamping addict that I am.

I save like every clear box, jar, bag known to man hoping that one day I can turn it into something nice.  So I went through my many boxes of stuff I have saved.  I found this clear box that chipboard had come in.  I decided to make my sister a "Baby's First" box after seeing this post by Beate.  I thought that was a neat idea for a new mom.

   

I will update later.  Gotta go to the hospital now.

Such exciting news!

During my last absense of blogging my baby sister, Amber, gave birth to a baby girl, her first.  She was born on October 25th.  Her name is Tristyn Serenity.

My other sister, Nicole, was due December 7th so they were due five weeks apart.  I got the call at 3am this morning that my sis was in the hospital and getting the epidural.  Well with all my health problems and meds I am on I can't even drive.  So my mom drove me into the city and I was with my sister by 4am.  Well, she gave birth at 8:26am this morning to a baby girl.  So two nieces 5 weeks apart! :)

Her name is Skye Sophia Lynn.  She weighs 6 lbs 8 oz and was 19.5 inches long.  Just a little peanut!

Watching a baby enter the world and take their first breath never gets old.  It was an amazing experience! 

I am finally back home and in bed resting up for a big test in the morning. 

Of course I couldn't not post a picture or two of the beautiful little niece of mine! :)

 

 

 

    Here I am with the little beauty!  Can you tell I only had an hour of sleep and am on heavy meds?  I am so thankful for God to allow me to be well enough today to be there to witness one of the world's most miraculous wonders!

Anyways, I have a big test in regards to my current health state tomorrow morning and have to be at admitting in the hospital early for sedation.  So I will do a quick post in the morning of what I made for Skye's shower (just two days before) before I leave for the hospital.

P.S. All of you who have emailed me for the votive box pattern, I obviously wasn't expecting to go to the hospital today, so depending how I feel I will put it up tomorrow or Thursday.

Votives gift in designer box

I was bored and looking at my massive amount of candles.  I have tons of candles and candle holders as my MIL is a PartyLite consultant.  I thought, hmmm, I would like to make those prettier.  So I came up with this template.  Well actually, to tell you the truth I kinda traced the PartyLite vootive box.   That was actually hard to keep it flat and trace all the nooks and crannnies.  If you would like the template I would be happy to share it with you.

I used patterned paper that was sturdier.  The patterned paper that is thinner didn't like holding the candles.  In fact I made a box using thinner paper and out fell the votives as soon as I picked it up. 

Even though I chose thicker paper, I still added some chipboard to the bottom of the box just to give it a bit of extra sturdiness.

I think this was Basic Grey paper but I can't remember.  I wrapped RidingHood Red cardstock around the box next.  I found the ribbon at Michaels and picked up a bunch of it because it matches chocolate chip almost to a T!

I used the small tag stamp from Two Cool Dudes and stamped it in soft sky. I then colored in the nose, scarf, and nose with markers. I used a glue pen and glitter on the snowman outline.  Then it was matted on RidingHodd Red using the Big tag punch.I added the silver eyelet and attached it to the box with white ribbon.
