Lovin' the Slice

        Here is my first 3D project using the Slice machine.  I didn't make this project up but got it from the Slice Challenge design blog.

Stamps: Roses in winter, Women of life- Papertrey Ink

Paper: so saffron, bashful blue, whisper white, le jardin designer paper

Ink: bashful blue, close to cocoa, old olive, chocolate chip, so saffron marker

Accessories: prima flower, martha stewart branch punch, Close to My Heart flower sticker, chocolate chip satin ribbon, white tafetta ribbon, antiue brass brad, Making memories slice machine with noteworthy and Basics 1 design cards, color spritzer tool

First I put together the box and sponged the top of it with cocoa ink. I added the brads to the middle of each side of the lid. Then I spritzed the box with saffon.  I stamped the roses on white using bashful and olive inks and added the tafetta ribbon.  I then punched out olive branches and added the prima and flower sticker.  I stamped the sentiment in chocolate.  The edges of the box lid were also stamped with cocoa ink.  I added the satin ribbon last.  Done, and it is perfect for my grandma's birthday present!

I promise- Last Christmas Post!

I just wanted to share this last gift I made for Christmas.  I will not post another Christmas post again till the season is around the corner again!  I need to make some springy cards for a change.  I can hardly wait until I don't have to make flowery cards to remind me of spring, I want to wake up to blooming tulips.  I guess this is what I get for living on the Canadian prairies, eh. lol

Anywho, here is a box of chocolates I did up for a teacher gift.  I made a matching card but forgot to snap a picture before I gave it away.

Supplies used are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: Holiday Treats- Papertrey Ink

Paper: Baja Breeze, Riding hood Red, white vellum

Ink: baja breeze, close to cocoa, ridinghood red

Accessories: felt flurries, stardust stickles, white gel pen, clear rhinestone stickers, mailing sticker labels, window tin, snowflake stamp- Martha Stuart

I made a belly band using baja and riding hood cardstock, sponged on the edges.  I then doodled the edge of baja with the gel pen.  I added the sentiment with cocoa ink and added the rhinestones.  I then attached the felt flurry and and a punched snowflake.  I added the rhinestone to the center and then stickled the vellum. 

The chocolates are decorated with the mailing labels I stamped on using the papertrey set.  That's it, that's all!

Showing off a gift a little late

Since I didn't blog a whole lot in December I have some gifts I made for Christmas to share with you a bit late.  But better late than never!

I found some takeout boxes in packs of three in different colors at the Dollarama.  It was the perfect find for throwing in some chocolates, bath stuff, etc for a small gift.  Here, I threw on some chocolate truffles and decorated it.

Paper: bashful blue

Ink: old olive, chocolate chip, bashful blue

Accessories: chocolate taffeta ribbon, bashful blue grosgrain ribbon, branch punch- Martha Stuart, red rhinestones- Dollarama, cutter kit- distressor

I distressed the edges of blue cardstock and sponged them as well.  I added the sentiment using chocolate ink.  I dragged the edges of the branches in the olive ink and added the rhinestones.

Nice gift without breaking the bank.

I had a super long post for this one and I accidently clicked the close button.  So this is going to be the condensed form as I am running short on time with all the projects I have on the go.

I picked up some bath stuff in the dollar bins at Michaels before Christmas.  Here is what I came up with for a gift.  This looks like I spent more than what I did on it ($6), at least I hope it does lol.

Stamps: Studio G alphabet stamp set (series 3) from Michaels dollar bin, Take a Bough- Papertrey Ink

Paper: Scrapbook Walls patterned paper (I used the reverse side of this paper - burgundy), kiwi kiss, whisper white

Ink: kiwi kiss, close to cocoa, chocolate chip

Accessories: chocolate chip satin ribbon (retired), creamy caramel grosgrain ribbon, circle punch, Coluzzle, hole punch

If I have time I will write up step by step instructions AGAIN lol!

Baby Shower Gift

My sister had a baby shower on Sunday, just in time!  She gave birth yesterday as I bragged about in my last post.  Of course I bought her stuff, but I also had to make her something, being the stamping addict that I am.

I save like every clear box, jar, bag known to man hoping that one day I can turn it into something nice.  So I went through my many boxes of stuff I have saved.  I found this clear box that chipboard had come in.  I decided to make my sister a "Baby's First" box after seeing this post by Beate.  I thought that was a neat idea for a new mom.

   

I will update later.  Gotta go to the hospital now.

Votives gift in designer box

I was bored and looking at my massive amount of candles.  I have tons of candles and candle holders as my MIL is a PartyLite consultant.  I thought, hmmm, I would like to make those prettier.  So I came up with this template.  Well actually, to tell you the truth I kinda traced the PartyLite vootive box.   That was actually hard to keep it flat and trace all the nooks and crannnies.  If you would like the template I would be happy to share it with you.

I used patterned paper that was sturdier.  The patterned paper that is thinner didn't like holding the candles.  In fact I made a box using thinner paper and out fell the votives as soon as I picked it up. 

Even though I chose thicker paper, I still added some chipboard to the bottom of the box just to give it a bit of extra sturdiness.

I think this was Basic Grey paper but I can't remember.  I wrapped RidingHood Red cardstock around the box next.  I found the ribbon at Michaels and picked up a bunch of it because it matches chocolate chip almost to a T!

I used the small tag stamp from Two Cool Dudes and stamped it in soft sky. I then colored in the nose, scarf, and nose with markers. I used a glue pen and glitter on the snowman outline.  Then it was matted on RidingHodd Red using the Big tag punch.I added the silver eyelet and attached it to the box with white ribbon.

Accessories: ribbon (Michaels), cutter kit (distressor), PartyLite candles, glue pen, dazzling diamonds glitter, silver eyelet, white tafetta ribbon

 

 

Getting ready

As I am takin' er easy during my illness, I have had some time to stamp.  My mom flew in to take over my life and I am stamping more now than I ever have before.  Here is what I came up with to match the card from my last post.

I bought a whole shwack of these jars at Dollarama for 50 cents each, cheap like borscht I'll say! 

I filled the jar with scotch mints and then decorated using the same ribbon, cardstock and designer papers.  I stamped the tag and punched it with the small tag punch, sponged the edges with cocoa and matted with red using the big tag punch.

For the top of the jar I used the scalloped circle punch with red carstock and glued it to the lid.  I used the awesome Martha Stuart snowflake punch with baja cardstock, added a brad and then some stickles for a nice glittery effect.  Lastly I added some dots to the scallops using a white gel pen.  Perfect gift for a teacher, which is where this one is going!

Blowing away

Man, I feel like Dorothy today....storms are building all around us andthe wind gusts are getting up there.  Perfect time for me to sit and stamp with my SU and CTMH orders that have been building up with no chance to play.  I babysat for three weeks so I had a 2, 3, 4, 7, and 8 year old!  Yoi!  So, needless to say NO stamping got done!  I did make one project for my splurge that I will show you, other than that, no creations!  I am gonna sit and watch my Days of our lives and Young and the restless and stamp all afternoon!

Anyways, here is what I made.  I got the instructions for this mini scrapbook from the resources part of SCS.

Can't get into details about the ingredients of it now as I have had to walk away and come back to this post for the last two hours!  I will come back when the munchkins are in bed...and I hope to be done some more creations to show.

I am back!!

Anyone still hang out here?  I hope that I didn't lose you all in my move.  I thought I coulda been back last week but that was a joke!  I had so much stuff going on that it was impossible to create and post anything!

Anyways, I apologize in advance for the pics in this post.  My fave ever camera kicked the bucket in the move...let's just say smashy, smashy!  Right now I am using my hubby's camera and don't have a sniff how to use it....besides to snap a pic.

I made this clipboard at a 12 hour crop day I went to this weekend.  I made this and a card as I was just happy to sit and not create much after moving.

I used the Bali Breeze designer paper for this and matching papers.  I just bought the build a brad pack and I used it here.  I love these little guys!!  I also used rubons to add a bit more.

Anyways, I am putting those earth elements on the back and hanging this on my fridge.  I will rotate pictures whenever I feel the desire. 

Anyways, gotta run and do some more unpacking.

Basic Grey Note Box

I also made this note box a few weeks ago.  I am really diggin' this new line of papers by Basic Grey.  I have used up my entire stash already!

Supplies (all SU unless otherwise noted)

Paper: basic grey, bashful blue

Ink : close to cocoa

Accessories: coasters. pretties kit flower and rhinestone brad, primas, chocolate chip taffeta ribbon, rubons, K & Co. rhinestone stickers, glossy accents (just like cyrstal effects)

First, I constructed the box with the coasters and ribbon.  Then I cut out the wavy paper and stuck it all around the box, this was a bit tricky but did work.  Then I added the rubons, primas and rhinestones.  Last, I used the glossy accents to "pop" up all the circles.  Yes, even the tiny ones.  I posted a pic of the back of the box and a close up of the accents.

Off to the Ramada hotel for the night to spend some time with my family.  My dad is in town, so I get to hang with him in ajoining rooms tonight!  Take care and happy Saturday!
