Sneak peek

I was contacted by Julie Buhler,  my aunt :), to see if I wanted to provide a sneak peek of a new stamp line she designed.  This is a digital stamp set called Encouraging Verses.  It is so easy to download and print in any size you want.  It will be available for purchase tomorrow, January 15th, over at All That Scraps. So go over and check out Julie's blog for her sneak peeks she has been posting and then head on over to All That Scraps tomorrow and get a set of your own!  No shipping, no waiting!

Supplies are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: Encouraging Verses- Paper Pleasing by Julie Buhler

Paper: soft sky, kiwi kiss, whisper white, chocolate chip, vellum, bella rose designer paper

Ink: black, soft sky, kiwi kiss, pink pirrouette, markers- so saffron, old olive, pretty in pink

Accessories: button bouquet, white taffeta ribbon, white brads- basic grey, slice machine with noteworthy cartridge, border punch- martha stewart, cutter kit- distressor

First I printed off the image and colored with markers, then matted on chocolate and distressed.  I cut out a 3.5" and 4" whirly magoo lol with the slice machine and matted stamped image on that with pop dots.  The top sliced layer is matted onto the bottom sliced layer.

The card base was sponged with sky ink.  I added the vellum layer on top of a designer piece and used brads to adhere them each to the other.  Next I used the border punch on the pink layer, which I sponged with matching ink and then added it to a sponged kiwi layer.  Then I added the ribbon.  For the buttons I cut a thin piece of edge off a piece of taffeta ribbon and used that for the knots in the centers.  I added those and called it done!

Here is a picture of the whole set.  Just print them off, color in if you wish, and use them again and again!

 I am lovin' this set and will be using it often!

Well It's been a month!

Christmas is a time I really cherish with my family.  I obviously started cherishing it early as I haven't posted in a month!  I was busy with my daughter on December 12th onward...she got her tonsils out and had a rough time with it.  My mom was also here from out of town helping me after my almost 2 week stay in the hospital.  She left just before New Year's and now I am back on track!  I am excited that the kids are back to school in 2 days as I will have lots of time to stamp!

  I do apologize for the pajamas and bad hair but I needed to show you my excitement with my new present I got for Christmas from my awesome hubby!

I had been wishing for the Making Memories slice machine and got it!  I am loving every minute of playing with this awesome die cut machine!  I also got the Noteworthy die card which is totally awesome!

So look for future posts using this great machine on some projects and cards!

More goodies!

My day was brightened when the mail came and my new shtuff from My Favorite Things arrived.  I have never ordered from them before but always loved the style.  I was so excited to play last night.  Here are the things I ordered.  Note: I blocked out the sentiments that might be offensive to you that have your kids hanging around the computer or if you might be offended.  My daughters saw me taking the sets out and I forgot that I ordered Twisted Sentiments and my oldest was trying to figure out what a stampgasm was!  Oops....hence the blocked image! :)  I ordered copic glitter spica pens and 4 stamp sets!  Can't wait to use these all!

 

So, here is my first card.  I was wanting to make a quick card, but this one took an hour!

Supplies (SU unless otherwise noted)

Stamps: Time for the Bubbly (MFT)

Paper: soft sky, pretty in pink, whisper white, berry bliss designer aper

Ink: jet black stazon, chocolate chip

Accessories: pink polka dot ribbon (my copic pens were wrapped in it!), pretty in pink eyelets, white signo gel pen, clear and silver copic spica pen, pretty in pink..chocolate chip..blush blossom markers, cutter kit's distressor tool

The main image was stamped on ww with stazon ink.  Then I stamped the image again on berry bliss and cut out the "wall" to glue on the ww image.  I then colored in the rest of the image using said markers.  The bubbles were colored with the clear spica pen.  I matted on pretty in pink (distressed) and chocolate chip (doodled).  The ribbon was attached to soft sky card base.  I then added the matted image and the eyelets and sentiment stamped in chocolate chip.  There ya go!

Note: For those that have been following my son's illness, he just got his IV out.  He did have quite a high fever last night and still has diarreah, but it looks like we are on the mend.  Thanks for all the positive thoughts and prayers!  They were greatly appreciated!
