Scalloped Valentine

I can't believe soon it will be Valentine's Day already.  It seems just like yesterday I was prepping for Christmas.  I thought I would start on some valentines a bit earlier than I normally do.  Truth be told, I have bought my husband his card for the past few years as the one I make either gets lost in the pile or I didn't even get t making it at all.  This is one of my New Year's Resolutions....stay on top of cards for my family and friends! :)

Anywho, here is a card that took me allllll morning to make.

Supplies Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted

Stamps: My Punny Valentine- Papertrey Ink

Paper: Bella Rose DSP, ridinghood red, pink pirrouette, whisper white, chocolate chip

Ink: pink pirrouette, kiwi kiss, ridinghood red, chocolate chip

Accessories: fiskers scalloped border punch, coluzzle, slit punch, 1/4 " circle punch, brad punch, white gel pen, black gingham ribbon, stampin' dimensionals

I made the red scalloped border behind the squirrel using the coluzzle, cutting an oval, then going around it with the slit punch with the protecter majig removed.  The scallops behind the strawberries were made using the 1/4 circle punch and adhering the circles behind the white circle.  A bit time consuming because the circles are so small, but worth it! 

I have a wicked bad cold so I am off for a nap before the oldest two get home from school.  Thanks for stopping by!

I promise- Last Christmas Post!

I just wanted to share this last gift I made for Christmas.  I will not post another Christmas post again till the season is around the corner again!  I need to make some springy cards for a change.  I can hardly wait until I don't have to make flowery cards to remind me of spring, I want to wake up to blooming tulips.  I guess this is what I get for living on the Canadian prairies, eh. lol

Anywho, here is a box of chocolates I did up for a teacher gift.  I made a matching card but forgot to snap a picture before I gave it away.

Supplies used are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: Holiday Treats- Papertrey Ink

Paper: Baja Breeze, Riding hood Red, white vellum

Ink: baja breeze, close to cocoa, ridinghood red

Accessories: felt flurries, stardust stickles, white gel pen, clear rhinestone stickers, mailing sticker labels, window tin, snowflake stamp- Martha Stuart

I made a belly band using baja and riding hood cardstock, sponged on the edges.  I then doodled the edge of baja with the gel pen.  I added the sentiment with cocoa ink and added the rhinestones.  I then attached the felt flurry and and a punched snowflake.  I added the rhinestone to the center and then stickled the vellum. 

The chocolates are decorated with the mailing labels I stamped on using the papertrey set.  That's it, that's all!

Beautiful bugs

I still LOVE Papertrey's sets. They are so different and I am always telling people about them.  But I am just an enabler at heart!  I pulled out the Little Lady set when I saw the patterned paper sitting in my stack.  Right there I had the color combo!  I love that about all the coordinating colors with SU.  I could never change my cardstock to any other company! Ever!

Anyways, on to the card!

Supplies are all SU unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: Little Lady (PTI)

Paper: real red textured, certainly celery, designer paper (retired, can't remember the name), whisper white

Ink: real red, basic black, real red marker

Accessories: certainly celery 1/4 grosgrain, slit punch (for scallops), rubons, color spritzer tool

First, I stamped the ladybug parts in red and black.  Then I used the swirlymajig stamp and stamped the in black.  I added the red with the spritzer.  Then I matted on celery and the designer paper and added the ribbon.  Next, I added the scalloped layer (used the slit punch).  I poked some holes in the scallops using my handy dandy pokymajig.  I matted all of this on the red card base and then added the rubon sentiment to finish it off.
